This page explains what information love at first site. (run by Dau in Cheshunt) collects, why, and what happens to it. The short version: only what is needed to build your website and look after you as a client, nothing is sold to anyone, and you can ask for it to be deleted at any time.
1. What we collect and why
Business contact details. Your business name, the owner's name, an email address or phone number, gathered from public sources (your existing website, Google Maps, business directories) or given to us by you. Used to show you a website we built for you and to stay in touch. Under UK GDPR the legal basis is legitimate interest: a one-to-one, relevant business offer you can decline once and never hear from us again.
Preview activity. When you open your private preview link, we record that it was viewed, so we know you have seen it and don't chase you unnecessarily.
Edit requests and messages. Comments you pin on your preview, forms you submit, and anything you send through the chat, including files. Used to make the changes you asked for.
Payment records. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We see that you paid and how much; we never see or store your card details.
2. What we do not do
No advertising trackers, no selling or renting your details to anyone, no marketing lists you did not ask to be on. Preview pages use your browser's local storage only to remember your own pinned comments between visits, which never leaves your device until you press send.
3. Who else touches the data
Three service providers, each only for what they are for: Netlify (hosting the websites and storing client records), Stripe (payments) and Resend (sending our emails). Each has its own privacy policy and security standards. Nothing else.
4. How long we keep it
If you become a client, for as long as you are one, plus whatever accounting records the law requires. If you never respond or say no, your details simply sit unused in our pipeline and are deleted when we tidy up, or immediately if you ask.
5. Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email dau@loveatfirstsite.net and it will be done, no forms, no fuss. If you are ever unhappy with how your data has been handled, you also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
