These terms keep things fair and clear for both of us. They are written in plain English on purpose. "We", "us" and "I" mean love at first site., run by Dau in Cheshunt. "You" means the business paying for a website.
1. What your one-off payment covers
The go-live fee (normally £499, or the price shown on your checkout page) covers: the website exactly as shown in your preview including any agreed edits, connecting it to your own domain name, setting it up on fast managed hosting, an SSL certificate (the padlock), and a mobile-friendly, search-engine-ready build.
2. Edits
Your preview includes one full round of edits, free, before you pay anything. A round means you gather all your comments and send them together. Further rounds of edits are £50 per round, payable through the button on your preview. After go-live, ongoing changes are covered by a care plan if you choose one.
3. Other costs
So there are no surprises: your domain name is charged at cost (usually £20 or less a year) and registered in your name, so you own it outright. Care plans are optional: Basic at £9 a month or Advanced at £29 a month. Both cover hosting, SSL, a monthly backup copy of your site, a daily check that your site is up, and the renewal of standard domains (up to £20 a year); premium domain names are billed at cost. Advanced adds minor changes within 48 hours, a monthly freshness check and priority contact. Both can be cancelled any time and are handled securely through Stripe.
4. Content and photos
Preview sites may use stock or placeholder photos, and these are always disclosed. After you come on board we replace them with your real photos where you provide them. You are responsible for the accuracy of business information you give us (prices, opening hours, claims about your services) and you confirm you have the right to use any content you supply.
5. Ownership
Once your go-live payment has cleared, the website content and design are yours. Your domain name is registered in your name from day one and you can transfer it away at any time, free. If you later leave, we will hand over the site files and help point your domain wherever you like.
6. Refunds and cancellation
You pay nothing until you have seen the finished preview and used your free edit round, so you know exactly what you are buying. Because of that, the go-live fee is not refundable once the site is live on your domain. If something goes wrong before go-live and we cannot fix it, you get your money back in full. Care plan subscriptions can be cancelled any time and simply stop at the end of the paid period. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
7. What we are not responsible for
We build and look after your website with care, but we cannot guarantee search rankings, a specific amount of enquiries, or uninterrupted availability of third-party services such as hosting providers, domain registrars or payment processors.
8. Payments
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
